Person at the Window

This page is devoted to Salvador Dali's "Person at the Window." It is also known as "Figure at a Window." It is an oil on canvas, held at the Museo Nacional Reina Sofia in Madrid.

Dali created this work in 1925. It is a portrait of his younger sister, Ana-Maria, of whom he painted many portraits in his early years. In fact, she is the only female model he used, up until he started using his wife Dala.

Dali's 1954 painting Virgin Buggered By Her Own Chastity (AKA Young Virgin Autosodomized by her Own Chastity) is believed to be a version of this work, painted to punish Ana-Maria for a book she wrote about him.

Here are all the Person at the Window prints available from AllPosters. AllPosters is the best online poster store I know. In my experiences, their prices, customer service, and selection have all been excellent.
